Des Moines Firm Wins Top National PR Award
Healthcare Campaign Honored by PRSA
NEW YORK (June 10, 2005) - The Public Relations Society of America last night awarded Des Moines-based Hanser & Associates the prestigious Bronze Anvil award. The award was presented for "Give Health a Hand," the media relations consumer healthcare campaign the PR firm created with its client, Good Samaritan Hospital, headquartered in Kearney, Neb.
Considered the "Oscars" recognizing national excellence in PR tactics, the annual Bronze Anvil awards are presented by New York-based PRSA to recognize the very best in PR tactics in North America. The award is presented in 50 categories and subcategories. Hanser & Associates has won two PRSA Bronze Anvils; it became the first Iowa-based PR firm to win the award in 2001.
The award-winning PR tactics were part of the Give Health a Hand campaign created for Good Samaritan by Hanser & Associates and Omaha-based Redstone Communications.
Hanser & Associates’ results cited by PRSA include news media placements throughout central Nebraska resulting in three media impressions per household about the importance of frequent hand washing; dozens of hand-washing demonstrations in the region; and the fact that Central Nebraska was one of the last areas in the United States to be struck by flu this season.
“It is a big honor to be recognized nationally by PRSA,” said Ronald Hanser, APR, President. “It’s a bigger honor to be recognized for quality public relations that resulted in improved health.”
The campaign also won an award last month from American Marketing Association.
