Hanser & Associates Wins Two National Awards
Des Moines PR Firm Recognized for Writing
DES MOINES, IA (July 11, 2003) -- Hanser & Associates has received two national awards of excellence in the APEX 2003 awards competition, which recognizes excellence in writing and publications by professional communicators. The West Des Moines-based PR firm was honored for Iowa Department of Public Health's bioterrorism preparedness publication and Simplicity Mortgage's news columns.
Hanser & Associates was honored along with an elite group of winners among the 4,928 entries. Other winners in the APEX 2003 awards are from all 50 states, and include American Bar Association, Bloomberg, Boeing, Kraft Foods, National Association of Realtors, Roche Diagnostics and The Vanguard Group. The firm also won APEX awards in 2002.

ABOUT THE TWO AWARDS
For Des Moines-based Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH), Hanser &
Associates created statewide bioterrorism readiness communication. The
firm helped IDPH bioterrorism communication “go bilingual” by writing
and designed a newspaper insert describing the state’s smallpox
vaccination and bioterrorism readiness programs. The English/Spanish
publication was delivered to 1.7 million Iowa homes during February,
making it the first bioterrorism-related information delivered to all
households statewide.
For Sterling, IL-based Simplicity Mortgage, Hanser & Associates wrote the award-winning series of news columns for local newspapers. The educational columns helped consumers understand the home purchasing and lending process.
