DES MOINES, Iowa (Jan. 29, 2009) – The area’s top designers have been matched with local media personalities to create stunning model rooms for the 2009 Des Moines Home & Garden Show, Feb. 12-15, 2009 at Iowa Events Center.
The rooms reflect the personal style of the celebrity while highlighting the latest living and design trends. Celebrity room participants are:
• Marcus Macintosh of KCCI-TV with Linda Glantz Ward of Linda Glantz Interiors will design a masculine living area that will be blue and gray with silver brushed nickel accessories.
• Rachel Pierce of WOI-TV with Linda Tweedy of Linda Tweedy Designs are going green and will design a bedroom with an Asian-inspired theme. Pierce will display a large picture from her own home to complement the room.
• Van & Bonnie of 1040 AM WHO with Tanya Keith of Simply for Giggles will design a children’s bedroom. Furniture displayed in the room will be donated by Simply for Giggles to a child in need following conclusion of the show. Listeners will be asked to nominate a deserving child at WHOradio.com. Van and Bonnie will announce the winner during a live broadcast on Thursday, Feb. 19.
• Big Ken and Colleen of Star 102.5 with Barb Watson of Interiors by Decorating Den will design a multipurpose sunroom in shades of yellow and green.
• Hatfield and McCoy of 92.5 KJJY with Joe Miller of Charles Home Furnishings will design a game room, which will be home to Hatfield and McCoy when they sleep at the show on Thursday, Feb. 12 and stay until 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 13 after their morning show.
• Cara Hall of Juice with Bill Johnson of Abante will design a modern living room with an organic, contemporary feel featuring dark wood, warm colors and wall art that represents Hall’s love of nature and travel.
Show visitors are encouraged to vote for their favorite room. The winning celebrity will receive $500 to donate to a favorite charity.
