Holds up to Chemical Agent Resistant Coating paint, chemicals and extreme temperatures
MASON CITY, IOWA (July 20, 2009) – Metalcraft today announced availability of Teflon® Coated UID Nameplates for unique marking applications in demanding military environments – especially adhering to paint and withstanding exposure to chemicals and temperatures up to 500°F.
UID is a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) mandate that requires a Unique Item Identifier (UII) to track items throughout their lifecycle – a challenge given the applications and environments of military assets.

Metalcraft’s Teflon® Coated UID Nameplates were developed in response to DoD suppliers’ demand for a UID product that adhered to Chemical Agent Resistant Coating (CARC) painted surfaces and allowed for easy removal of dirt, grease and dried paint. These unique products are constructed of anodized aluminum with a protective Teflon® coating and an adhesive approved for CARC applications.
Metalcraft offers a complete Unique Identification (UID) policy compliance solution that includes six UID product families, expedited ordering services, data management and registration services and on-staff UID specialists with a detailed understanding of the DoD’s requirements. Metalcraft covers every aspect of UID policy compliance except physically attaching the product to the asset.
“UID compliance can be easy and profitable with Metalcraft,” said Metalcraft president Steve Doerfler. “Metalcraft has the knowledge, products and services DoD suppliers need; we’re committed to helping DoD suppliers improve inventory management and asset tracking to realize a return on their investment in compliance.”
