Situation: Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) is the official professional organization for film commissioners who assist film, television, and video production on six continents. The Beverly Hills, California-based association’s 300 members serve as city, county, state, regional, provincial or national film commissioners in their respective jurisdictions. AFCI retained Hanser & Associates to analyze the association’s international communication program.
Strategies & tactics: Our communication audit process included surveying members and other stakeholders worldwide via phone and at the association’s annual Locations trade show in Los Angeles, evaluating online and print materials and recommending improvements based on our research.
Results: Our work was praised by AFCI’s staff and board of directors; AFCI implemented our recommendations. The worldwide organization continues to thrive and grow in the fast-changing film industry.
