Situation: National Pork Producers Council (NPPC), with offices in Washington, DC and Urbandale, Iowa, conducts public-policy outreach on behalf of its 43 affiliated state associations, enhancing opportunities for the success of U.S. pork producers and other industry stakeholders. NPPC’s mission is to fight for reasonable legislation and regulations, develop revenue and market opportunities, and protect the livelihoods of America’s 67.000 pork producers.
Strategy & tactics: NPPC retained Hanser & Associates to develop a nationwide communications strategy during a period of extensive change in the pork industry. The firm analyzed trends and nationwide research regarding the future of the industry, and developed a comprehensive communications strategy and implementation plan.
Results: NPPC’s executive leadership and board of directors utilized the plan nationwide to formulate strategies to benefit the industry and assist in communicating more effectively with state associations, pork producers, policy-makers and other industry stakeholders.
